A series on drawings i explore to understand ideas of geometry or enclosure.

History Assignment, Semester 6, Batch 2016, WCFA : To explore an architects work by choosing a particular lens. Drawing by student : Rahul Kustagi.

Rahul uses the method of the Nolli plan (a brilliant interpretive drawing of Rome by Giambattista Nolli in 1748 , revealing the porosity of public space in both built and unbuilt forms ) to explore the spatial porosity of IIM Ahmedabad . The intensity of yellow is proportionate to the publicness. The library even though a built space, becomes the crux of the publicness in IIM

Drawing Exercise, Semester 2, WCFA :
Step 01 : Develop three line variations from Sol Lewitt’s Incomplete Cube Series into solid objects (A,B,C)
Step 02: Intersect the three solids (A,B,C) in a manner, all the conditions of overlap (A+B,B+C,A+C,A+B+C) are achieved in a single combined composition.
Step 03 : Highlight the intersections
Drawings by student : Varun Bapu , Batch 2016. (The photoshop edits and colour are by the author. I tried to emphasis the intersection is 3 ways highlighting – combined form, intersections, exploded components)
